Bike culture has advantage over car culture. They get to get away with extremely illegal things and regulations barely hit them. Why? Well a drift car or even a normal car will very likely get outrun and caught by a simple turbo diesel cop car with proper tires with some help of traffic, in most cases at least. I had a moment where I ran from the cops in a drift car in the rain, man that shit sucked, we were lucky that we stumbled onto a cop car going to opposite direction of us on a quite tight road, so by the time it turned around we were long gone. Were it behind us, no way to run away, just have not enough grip and if you want to go to fantasy land and imagine drifting the corners to escape, well it makes so much noise that you will actually just give away your position faster. Don't let me get started on the suspensions setup too. Normally you would have coilovers/static suspenion, you are really risking it if you are driving over speed bumps at speed with that.
Point being, bike people can get away with almost anything, since I think the authorities realize themselves that if you actually try to chase down and arrest bike people, they will either run away successfuly, or die in pursuit. Neither option sounds good, so just moderate them a little bit, keep them happy. You can outlaw most of their activity, but at this points many bike riders don't even ride with a license or a legal bike/plates in the first place, so what are you really gaining by doing this?
Also logically to outrun police or anyone chasing you on public roads, raw acceleration and braking is much more effective than cornering speed/ability to maintain speed in the corners. Which is also what bikes excel at. Since in each corner unless you are legit just gambling you need to assess whether there is some random variable coming at you at high speeds, so you ll naturally be slowing down and looking, rather than maintaining optimal corner angle and speed like you would on a race track.
Thats what kinda sad about drifting, in reality you are very much tied on a leash or have to depend on tactics of staying out of sight/sound, while with a bike you are able to be much more free.
I had moments where I am drifting for an hour or so in the woods, my tyres are running out soon, decide to head back, do a little drift back to the main street and see cops pull out at max distance . And you just know at that moment, if they noticed me, if they want to fuck with me, I cannot do anything anymore, my vehicle isn't capable enough. -license -car, start over. Luckily in that time, they had lights on, but it wasn't for me, they were on dispatch somewhere else and didn't pull me over. It just sucks, since you can go to very remote area, late during work week (3-4AM), when there shouldn't be anyone around, yet you might still encounter them. Maybe I am a coward and shouldn't even care, but having the ability and skills to get away from basic cop cars would make me feel better haha
ZZZZ
Cleaning all my old stuff out. Optimising laifu
